1And having gotten into a boat, he crossed over and came to his own city.2Behold, they were bringing to him a paralytic on a bed. And seeing their faith, Jesus said to the paralytic: "Take courage, child; your sins are forgiven."3Behold, certain of the scribes said among themselves, "This man blasphemes."4And knowing their thoughts, Jesus said, "Why do you think evil things in your hearts?"5For which is easier, to say, "Your sins are forgiven," or to say, "Rise and walk"?6so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins"—then he says to the paralytic, "Arise, take up your cot, and go to your house."7And he arose and went away to his house.8But the crowds, seeing this, were afraid and glorified God, who had given such authority to men.
